The language and culture of Madhupur in Tangail The land area of Tangail is diverse. The district is a traditional and diverse ancient town. Tangail is the 19th district in Bangladesh. Earlier the territory of this district was Nasirabad district (now Mymensingh district). According to historians, ancient Tangail was part of the Kamrup district of Assam in ancient times. A subdivision was established here on 3 May 189 AD. The subdivision was transferred from Atia to Tangail on 15 November 180 AD. And that subdivision became a district on December 1, 179 AD. Tangail district is bounded on the north by Mymensingh and Jamalpur districts, on the east by Mymensingh and Gazipur districts, on the south by Dhaka and Manikganj districts, on the west by Jamuna Nadi and Sirajganj districts. There are hilly areas in the north and east of Azela. There are rivers like Jamuna Dhaleshwari, Jhenai, Bairan Lohajang, Mara Atrai etc. across the western region. And in the middle there is a flat land surrounded by canals, beels, baors, ashes and tributaries.
